Everyone knows that not all newsgroup servers are built the same….well, actually nobody knows that.  Most people have never even heard of terms like usenet, newsgroups, and binary newsgroups.  Well, these all refer to one of the oldest and sacred parts of the internet.  Something that existed long before there was a World Wide Web.  Yeah, that is right the internet != www.  I repeat the internet does not equal the world wide web.  They are one and the same.  I came across a memo on newsgroup servers that passed me along to this newsgroup server review.  All-in-all, it got me thinking about my current usenet provider that I have been paying for a long, long time.  The retention that Giganews has is, well, impressive to say the least.  I am going to check them out some more.
